To See Clouds
To see clouds, you have to look up.
You have to take your eyes off your feet, and stop
or risk falling.
The task you set out on is second now
to what is unfolding above,
allowing things to fall into order.
To see clouds—to really see them—
you have to lift your gaze,
drop your guard
and let them in.
When gifted an early morning,
when something wakes you, holds you
in its pre-dawn hand and will not let you go…
