Speak

Between the earth and the air above
life speaks in clouds.
Converse with your maker,
lean across your sky.
Paint your desire in feathered script,
speak it to rivers, call over foothills,
pour across plains, cry
return me to the sea!
Hear the river reply
I’ll carry you home.
