Hold on

You’ve been here before
but facing the road
doesn’t mean
you have to rewalk it.
You have choices,
though the old pull
pulls, and the old hurts
hurt still.

Stop here. Soften.
Let go the grip
that forces your hand,
set aside armour,
make space for pain.
Letting love in
is a learned thing.
